Is my sick cats diet correct?

So I have been to 2 vets and spent all my money including rent trying to help my cat. About a week ago I started noticing he wasn’t coming up on the bed like he normally did whenever I was home in my room (my room is the entire basement where the 2 cats live). After a few days I started noticing that there was cat piss spots all over the basement. My roommates parents are both vets so I took him in the day it started thinking it was a UTI. Urinalysis showed no clear signs. They gave him fluids and antibiotics and told me to feed him wet food then to watch him over the next few days Incase it got worse. For the next two days he seemed to be getting better. No piss spots anywhere. He still wasn’t eating and was barely drinking water but he wasn’t pissing and he was hopping up on couches unlike before where he would only stay in one spot on the ground even if you moved him to a more comfortable place. Well then yesterday ago the piss spots came back but they are now black. He hasn’t done a single one on the carpet oddly only on the concrete. But when I woke up today I found about 4 new ones. I took him to my vet who referred me to an Animal ER. When they took a urinalysis the sample was yellow(not black like the spots) and had no signs of any infection. They think it might be diarrhea and gave me some pain meds and told me to get him to eat anything I can. I left that hospital with $30 left to my name and no where closer to helping my cat. The only other guess I have is stress. We just had the third cat in the house move out with one of my roommates and my cats odd behavior started after he left. It sounds crazy but maybe he just misses his friend because the cat that was left is not as social with other cats (not mean just a loner). My little guy feels like he is starving himself and is scarring me a lot because I cannot lose this cat. Please help me figure out what is happening or just how I can help my cat. I love him so much.

He is already on light painkillers but is not eating or drinking. I am trying to get a cat who is not eating or drinking to do so. I have 2 child syringes that I filled with 1/4 pedialyte and 3/4 Gerber chicken baby food. I have given him this once and he ate it, kept it down, and even used the litter box for the first time in ages. It appears it is working but I am not completely convinced.
