Hi guys, I just got a 4.5 month old ragdoll, today I noticed that he had some poop stuck on his tail. I wiped it off with some water and tissue, but was just wondering if this is a kitten thing or is there a problem?
His poop (sorry for TMI) takes on solid shape but it's a bit soft (not runny), so I think this may be why some got stuck on his tail. Maybe something with his food?
I'm feeding him a mix of the dry food he used to eat before we got him (2 days ago) and some new kitten dry food we got, as well as a bit of wet kitten food (royal canin kitten) and boiled chicken mince. Before we got him I believe he was fed kibbles and a mixture of raw/cooked beef, kangaroo and chicken mince.
I also noticed that he sneezes a bit (maybe 1-3 times a day?), just now some snot came out when he sneezed. He doesn't have runny nose/eyes normally though. Could he maybe have an respiratory infection or would it be a normal cold? He's just over 4 months old but has only had his 1st vaccination, and isn't due for his second for another 10ish days. I did notice him cough and gag a bit on the first day, but that sounded like him trying to cough up a hairball.
He didn't eat much the first day in the evening (a few bites) but was fine later on that night and ate a bit, today he's eaten a lot, I'd say he ate more than average (for kittens his age) this afternoon, and a normal amount tonight. As soon as I got his food ready, he went and ate it. No problem with appetite and energy. He chases around his toys, plays with his ball, cat scratcher etc. and follows us around and always rub against our legs or lay down next to our feet. We got him an extra thick cushion and blanket to keep him warm.
His vet visit isn't until 10 days from now so I'm just concerned if there's any issues I should be worried about now, and if needed take him to an emergency vet?
