Moved across town to a new apartment with two cats. 2.5 year old female who is dominant and 2 year old male who is a ball of fluff and aloof. They were best friends and would lick each other and play and had lived together for 1.5 years.
Once we moved the older female began hissing at the younger male. Both have been extremely vocal in terms of meowing, neither eating or using the bathroom much.
Older female shit in the tub, so I bought an additional litter box. Also bought 4 anti-anxiety diffusers.
Now the older cat is not as vocal, but still hisses at the younger male. Younger male now hides in the rafters of the basement and I'm not sure if he has drank anything and has only eaten treats I've fed him.
TL:DR - Moved into new apt, former best friend cats are no longer. Youngest is hiding in basement and not eating. It's been 72 hrs, just let me know this is normal so I can tell my gf to calm down.
