Today I was watching a Netflix show while playing fetch with my aussie and someone was yelling "drop it" on the TV which is the command I use to get him to drop the ball. He looked at the TV, tilted his head, and dropped the ball.
I just thought it was interesting that he hears talk on the TV all the time, but he recognized some words he knows out of all the garbage and responded to them.
