Today I was bringing my dog for a walk on a trail near my house, we were throwing the ball for him and being the clumsy one year old he is he jumped at the ball and took a bit of a spill on the gravel trail. He started to favour his left paw for a second but seemed fine after that. Just recently (about four hours later after dinner) we noticed the pad on the heel of that leg was partially torn. It looks like the layer of skin peeled back, but it really doesn’t seem to bother him. We’ve wrapped it up and he doesn’t seem to mind it all that much.
Do you think this warrants a visit to the vet or if we just keep it clean and wrapped it should heal fine on its own?
