I adopted my father’s cat last month who was only fed treats and caused him to be severely obese. I moved him into my house about a month ago and he had a bit of difficult adjusting but was doing well about a week later. I’ve been feeding him regular cat food and he’s lost weight. As of four days ago he stopped eating. We brought him to a vet tonight and he was diagnosed with hepatic lipidosis. I can not afford the treatment. It’s over $1000 to treat him. I’m leaving for a trip tomorrow morning and can have my aunt take him and try to force feed him with a syringe but no guarantees he’ll even eat. Please, any advice would be helpful.
