Naughty pooch wants alone time to feast

Im looking for advice to help manage my newly adopted dog (1 month). Ill start off by saying that his is a lab pyrenees mix, very tall, nearly 110lbs and about 2 years old. He is a big boy to say the very least. In general he is a very well behaved dog and normally eager to please when it comes to commands. The only problem is that nearly everytime he has been left alone he seems to get into something. It is almost always something food related, be it a pan in the sink, a tuperware container left on the counter, or actual food itself. My apartment is very clean and we try to keep everything tempting to our dog put away. Today after leaving my dog alone for two hours he somehow managed to get on top of our refridgerator and ate an entire loaf of bread. Then later on in the evening my boyfriend and I started to get intimate so we shut our bedroom door and left the beast to free wander in the living room and kitchen. Not even 5 minutes of being left alone we heard him get into something so we went to check on him and sure enough, he had gotten a set of tuperware left on the counter. This is starting to become really frustrating because he will ONLY ever do it if he is alone or if he is being "left out". You can tell that he knows what he is doing is wrong and that hes being a bad boy but I dont know how to properly correct the behavior. I take him to the dog park and on walks regularly. I cant be around to supervise 100% of the time and there will be times when he is going to be left alone for a few hours. I dont think that it is seperation anxiety because he doesnt seem to mind being left alone. Any advice is appreciated.
