My normally aloof cat came up to me this morning and started being really affectionate, like purring and rubbing herself against my hand if I stopped petting her.
Normally I’m always looking out for signs that she’s ready for me too stop petting her because she’ll give me a gentle nip if I’m annoying her. This wasn’t that.
There were no warning signs body language wise. One second she’s purring and rubbing her head against my hand, the next she’s jumping on to my arm and biting repeatedly. I pushed her away, and she kept trying to bite, her tail puffed up but she was still purring. Her face also looked really strange, like I don’t know how to describe it. She stopped after I pushed her away a second time and she’s now sitting on the foot of my bed.
She has her rabies vaccination, so it’s not that. Do you guys have any ideas for why she turned like that?
