worried about my cat

i have 2 cats and they are both outside cats. i think i have had them for easily over 6 years (they were strays)

the other day my mom found acouple pieces of fur in the backyard that kind of looks like his fur (but only like 3 patches and it doesn't lead anywhere, no blood either) and ever since then he hasn't came home and i am very scared

he usually comes in and out atleast 5 times a day. and i haven't seen him since. there has been one occasion when he didn't come home for acouple days in the past; he had something happen to him (i have no idea) that caused him to move weirdly as if his head was too heavy for him. he would have trouble walking. before this happened he wasn't home for 2-3 days. a week passed and he was back to normal (this was over a year ago)

im posting this because i am scared and want someone to talk to about what the possibilities are. this cat is everything to me (i am very sorry if this isn't a kind of post that isn't allowed; i read the rules but if it isn't u can delete and i am sorry)
