Advice please!! Roommates cat always bites me, I can’t make/eat food in peace, and scratches and meows at my door all night

Hi, I’m really needing some advice! I love all animals, including cats, but my roommates cat is starting to be a major issue. I would appreciate any advice, please.

TLDR; roommates cat will not let me make or eat food without getting into it and biting and scratching me when I push her away gently. I cannot sleep with my door closed bc she scratches obsessively at it all night. Cannot leave anything out bc she will get into it and bite me if I stop her. Please help lol.

To start, food. I cannot make a meal, even something as simple as buttering my toast without the cat (Mila) getting into the butter. If I go to put the lid on the butter bc she’s licking it, she begins to start licking my toast. I put her down on the ground repeatedly but she will continue obsessively jumping on the counter and then start biting me if I try to get her down. I have to make a literal human shield around my food. Then carry my plate whilst putting any remaining food products/silverware away, bc that cannot be left out, even in the sink, or she will get to it. My food is then cold by the time I can eat it and I usually have to heat it up and then Mila bothers me the whole time I try to eat. I do not give in and feed her, btw. She also bites and claws at me when I try to push her gently away. I have a lot of red scabbed scratches bc of this.

Next, bothering me at night. I sleep with my boyfriend every night, who has to be awake by 6am every day for his nursing classes. We like to sleep with the door closed bc my room is right across from the kitchen and easy to see into/no privacy. Well, we can no longer sleep with the door closed. Mila will seriously scratch at my door like a horror movie. It’s not a little bit of scratching, it’s constant nonstop insane scratching. So, I have to crack open my door. Mila will then come into my room and sometimes even jump on my bed in the way of where I sleep and bite me if try to get her off. She then meows if she cannot open the door to leave at her convenience (the door will sometimes shut bc of a draft and I then have to get up and let her out).

Keep in mind, my boyfriend and I are students and have to wake up very early, this is affecting our sleep.

Mila cannot sleep in my roommates door with the door shut bc she will also meow until my roommate gets up to let her out.

As I was writing this I head a loud bang and Mila literally pulled up the rubber plug from the kitchen sink and was trying to get into the garbage disposal. Holy shit. I didn’t even know these things came out of the sink. Like that’s so dangerous.

Please help— this is getting so hard to manage and I’m worried for my sleep schedule

Thanks so much sorry for the length!
