For years, I've been buying comforter after comforter for our queen-sized bed, and the story is always the same: Buy a new comforter, it lasts for a few months, but inevitably two sets of kitty claws and a dog who loves to sleep with us (AND without us, she just really loves sleeping on the bed!) cover it in so much fur and snag so many threads with their nails that I end up tossing it and getting a new one. I know this is part of the pet experience, and it's honestly never really bothered me, but I was wondering: is there a specific material/brand/thread count/quality to look out for when buying a comforter that two kitties and a dog sleep on every night? (And sporadically during the day?) I would love to find something that doesn't act like a total hair-magnet, and maybe something with a little more durability against cat and dog claws.
None of them destroy my comforters on purpose, of course, they're all very sweet and well-trained, it's just one of the joys of clawed fur-babies!
