I have an 11 year old cat and he keeps clawing at the carpet.
He always claws right next to a large object that is on the carpet (laundry basket for example). I always have 3 scratching pads in the house that he also uses often.
Is there anything else I can do to stop this behavior? I've had his claws trimmed at the vet but that can be pricey if done frequently. I have also sprayed him with a water bottle but that doesn't seem to help.
