Okay, so, not my cat. I moved back into my parents house due to personal reasons – and I cannot stand my sisters cat.
She pisses absolutely everywhere. On everything. You can’t leave towels, shoes, clothes, blankets, anything on the floor that’s even remotely soft, or within hours it will be urinated all over. We have to keep every door shut so she doesn’t go in to pee. She pees on my sisters bed – right as she’s sleeping. The other night, she caught her ABOUT to piss all over the computer cords on the floor.
We’ve had this cat for about 12-14 years, we adopted her alongside her brother (fixed as well). For about 10 years they were the only cats we had. The pee problem started I don’t know, probably 7-8 years ago now? And nobody gives enough of a damn to do anything or take the poor thing to the vet for an ongoing urinate on everything problem. I know it’s not spraying, either, because she squats.
The first 10 years they each had their own litter box, which would be cleaned regularly. She still peed on everything. We would change the location of the box, the type/brand of litter, the type of litter box (open vs closed etc). Nothing. We tried giving her multiple. Nothing.
Now we have two more cats, so four in total. She’s still got her own litter box. She still does it. I don’t know if the other cats are a trigger because she’s been doing this for YEARS before they even showed up.
She also pees on anything somebody else touches in my sisters room. If she has a friend over and they sit on the bed, the cat pisses where the friend sat. If the friend takes off their jacket or shoes she pisses on it. Even friends that don’t have a single animal at their house.
I’m at my wits end. I dont know what to do. I can’t even have my door open in fear the cat will come in here and pee. I can’t take it to the vet, it’s not my cat, I don’t have the money or the time. Everybody else refuses to. My mother especially, because the cat is so old she doesn’t think she should spend money taking it to the veterinarian. I personally think it should be put down.. she’s half blind, half deaf, constantly smells like pee, always has feces stuck to her fur. She’s a long haired Himalayan that never gets brushed. Her fur is matted. I just don’t think this cat is in liveable condition anymore but I fear I’m speaking out of frustration of the constant urination. Please god help me. I can’t wake up to ammonia another day, seriously.
