Heartbroken and angry

My wife and I have a senior dog. She is 17 years old and although my wife got her in college she’s really my dog. She loves me and I take care of her. We are currently expecting a baby in about 3 weeks. The problem we are having is that Daisy (our dog) has cushings and is incontinant. She still moves around fairly well but sleeps a lot and can’t see or hear very well. My wife made a comment that basically broke down to that when the baby comes we will need to put Daisy down. I am not ok with this at all. I understand that waste on the floor isn’t good for the baby but I can’t see euthanizing Daisy when she still gets around. I am very angry. Am I holding on when it might be better if she is put down? Like am I thinking about my feelings instead of her quality of life? I love her very much and will not let her go until she is ready. Do anyone have advice? So sorry for this rambling
