Battle vs Fleas (Sorry, Needed to Vent)

First, sorry that this must be the 1,000th fleas post. I actually joined Reddit after reading so many before me, but my girlfriend is sick of this topic and I needed to rant/ask some questions.

Backstory: I live in a studio apt (less than 300 sq ft) with two cats, Tux and Grey. Two years ago, despite giving them monthly flea baths, they both got fleas (Tux much worse). I never once saw a flea in my apt, just on them. Regardless, after a $800 vet visit, I vowed this would never happen again. I've used Beyer Advantage II every month since, keep a large dehumidifier running non-stop, and bomb my apt in warm weather.

Situation: Sun 1am, I found a flea in my kitchen. Alarmed, I checked the cats with the flea comb- Grey has nothing, Tux has 3-4 eggs but no fleas on him.

(QUESTION: if there are eggs on him, is that a comment on the effectiveness of the Advantage or no??)

I give them both long baths, hoping to kill any living fleas. I also give them their monthly dose (a week earlier than usual, but I did use a lesser amount- I was worried about this but they both seem fine). By 7 am I have purchased bombs (the lowest rated ones online grrr, but the only ones at the store).

By 10 am I have bombed the apartment "as is;" I don't move anything. Once that clears, I move everything off my carpet and bomb again, this time setting it on the cleared carpet (cats are at gf's). I then spend the day doing laundry, all my bedding and dirty clothes. I mop the apartment, clean everything, vacuum before and after.

(QUESTION: I've seen different sites saying when to vacuum after bombing. Some say I should, to get the dead bugs, others say to let the poison settle in. Thoughts?)

By 10 pm I bring the boys home, only to IMMEDIATELY find two fleas on my window sill! I realize they may have been hiding in the cracks of the window, which was protected by the curtain. I curse my idiocy for not taking down the curtains.

OKAY. I take the boys back to gfs, bomb again (by the windows with the curtains laying the on the carpet with bomb directly on top). I then seal the curtains in a bag, and will wash today.

It is now late at night and I bring my boys home again (it's too late to do a full clean of the apt again, but I do mop the floors and vacuum before bringing them home).

After ALL THAT, I find ANOTHER flea on my kitchen floor and one in my shower! To be fair, they both seemed weak and unable to jump "much" but they were alive.

(QUESTION: is possible that the fleas I found were going to die eventually from the poison? I cannot keep bombing my apartment every time I find a flea, at this rate)

I plan of vacuuming every day this month, will make sure the kitties do not go outside and am planning on buying a second dehumidifier. I will also comb them everyday of course. Beyond that, does anyone have any more tips?
