I have been suffering with bad nasal congestion since adopting my cats 3 years ago and it had gotten worse as the years went on. About a month ago I did a skin prick test and low and behold I am allergic to cats, as suspected. I don’t know why it took me so long to do the test. Anyways, we rehomed the cats about one month ago. I hired a cleaning company to thoroughly clean the house. We washed all the sheets, curtains, threw out rugs, etc as well. Then I went out of the country for a two week vacation. My nose cleared up while on vacation and I felt great for the first time in years! I have been back for two weeks now and I would say my allergies are about 50% better. I read online that cat dander can stay in the house for up to 6 months. I sort of expected all my symptoms to be gone completely. Anyone have experience with this?
