My fur baby has a post op infection, and it has me very worried.

We just rescued our dog abut two months ago. She is about 2 y/o, came from a rough place, and had puppies at some point, but that's all we know. Three-four weeks ago we got her fixed, the wound seemed to heal beautifully and she showed no signs of being sick. Friday she started having bloody discharge and we assumed it was her going into heat, which is a big bad sign seeing she is fixed... I just took her into the vet yesterday and it turns out she isn't going into heat but has an internal infection. Did an ultrasound and saw a swollen mass and now she is on anti bionics for two weeks and has a follow up appointment. If the mass does not shrink she will have to go in for emergency surgery.

Vet says an infection like this isn't super common, but can happen especially in older rescues who could have been exposed to who knows what. She is still acting just like her normal happy self and show no signs of fever or other illness, I'm just so worried about her. We have only had her for a few months and I don't want her to get sick. :/
