Background: my country is a bit unfriendly towards mental issues, just started seeing a psychologist last week. They had some suspicion but asked me to make a mood journal and come back in 2 weeks. I'm kinda afraid that I might have anxiety/bipolar/low grade depression, but gonna wait for the professional to give me the verdict and treatment. So far I filled the mood chart consistently.
I've been planning on getting a rabbit for a few months (fuzzy lop), and have already did a complete research concerning their needs, living space, my daily schedule, etc..
Yesterday I talked to someone from a rabbit community and they recommended getting one after I got back from my business trip (very irregular, I only work 9-5 daily except for some special occurrences. Already got a contact of a rabbit friendly pet hotel) since I would need a bit of time to acclimate the rabbit, and I planned on going to the adopting place on Saturday.
But then when I talked to a friend, he suggested to wait until I am stable mentally. I know that I can take care of myself (my only problem is the tiny attacks here and there and intruding thoughts mainly) and took care of some indoor plants (for some kind of a consistency training), but now I feel that whatever I give/do might not be enough to give the rabbit a happy life.
Any suggestions about this? Should I hold off until I'm stable, or can I adopt one in the near future? I know that I'm gonna hold off at least until I see my psychologist again, but I suppose I need a second opinion.
