I have two dogs. A big boy; black lab mix and a little girl; shorkie (shih-tzu/yorkie mix). I keep the both of them in the laundry room in the side of the house when not home. The boy is crate trained and is good about sitting and napping all day. The girl is high energy and will bounce around for hours. The laundry room doesn’t have a door, didn’t when I moved in. For the better anyway, the two of them have ruined doors in the past. I bought a swinging gate that sits in doorways that has worked really well. Recently, however, the girl has learned she can jump over the 3’ gate. I would leave them out to the rest of the house except she gets into EVERYTHING and will pee and poop anywhere she pleases. I’ve tried crate training her and, just ugh. She is calm and non-destructive if she remains in the room but I think she enjoys jumping over the gate and exploring the house. MY POINT- does anyone have recommendations for gates, like a collapsible gate or grill or a door that will withstand two energetic dogs when they hear people coming in?
