Recently adopted a very sweet 1 year+ American bulldog mix. Our cat which we've had for the better part of a decade doesn't respect his boundaries because he's used to having rule of the house. Dog doesn't go out of his way to attack, but will snap at cat when he gets too close.
This was dog's first day at home, so I'm not too concerned that they can't learn to at least tolerate each other over time, but any advice to speed the process and quell my wife's fears about our new pooch killing the cat would be appreciated.
