Help! My cat seems to become more hyperactive after eating dry food than wet food?

I feed my adopted cat (I don't know how old she is) three times a day. I give her wet food in the morning, dry food in the afternoon before I leave, and wet or dry food at night before going to bed. It seems that when we give her dry food, she becomes super active, playful and bites us in the early morning compared to when she eats wet food at night.

Is it just my imagination? Does this happen to you, too? Does the amount of food regardless of dry or wet account for hyperactivity instead? Or is this hyperactivity just normal for young cats?
