My cat is driving me insane

I need some cat advice to save my sanity. I grew up with cats and dogs, and after having my own dog for a few years now, I adopted a cat a few months ago. She’s very sweet and friendly - TOO friendly. She can’t just snuggle, she must be aggressively rubbing her head on you at all times. She has no middle ground like my old cats, who could be with and near you without needing to dominate your attention at all times.

I work from home, and every morning she will not leave me alone for several hours, until I’m at my wits end because I can’t type a sentence without her smashing my keyboard; this only ends once she finally decides to go sleep for the afternoon. At night she’ll try to sleep in our bed. I wouldn’t mind this (dog sleeps in bed too), except that she must be touching me, and every couple of hours she climbs onto my pillow and starts meowing in my ear waking me up. Tonight I tried shutting her out of the room, and she’s literally been meowing non stop FOR HOURS. I feel guilty because all she wants is love and affection, but it’s becoming harder for me to want to be affectionate with her when she’s so annoying. I just want her to mellow out a bit, because this aggressive loving is making me crazy. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
