i adopted a mixed-race dog 3 years ago from a shelter. she's always been a little anxious about seemingly harmless things like rain, dog clothes... but she has improved a lot since she came home. she is healthy and she doesn't have any parasites that could bother her. she is sterilized.
A few weeks ago, she started to become anxious at night. she sits in the corner of the bedroom and stares and refuses to fall sleep in her bed. sometimes she approaches me and pokes me like asking for something so at first i thought she needed to go outside to pee but that wasn't it. i left the light on but that wasn't it either. she sleeps ok during the day. i can't think of anything that could be causing this sudden behaviour and i am hesitant to take her to the vet because they would probably make a lot of unnecessary tests that would show nothing, since i took her to her check-up recently. it seems that she is scared of something but nothing has changed in our home that i can't think of.
so neither she or I have had a decent night of sleep since last month. any advice?
