Advice/help rehoming a large older dog?

I am a groomer and one of my clients has asked for help rehoming her 9 year old Great Pyrenees. I’ve already tried to explain that it isn’t ideal for the dog to leave its home so late in life and have a senior rescue pup for my own dog. However this is for financial reasons, and I just want to see her go to her forever home.

I’ve shared her post to my business and personal Facebook, and made in-depth and conditional Craigslist post intended to deter any dog fighters or other unsavory characters.

However I’ve only got responses like “I want your dog. Address?” and my personal favorite, “so the dog is 63 years old?”

Is there a better way to do this? Or am I doing all that I can? I worry that if I don’t help her find a home soon, the owner will just hand her over to the next person and the dog deserves better than that. Taking her in myself is sadly not an option.
