This may be a long shot but thought I’d ask... I took in a kitten I found in my yard who was a few days old, injured, and alone.... I didn’t know at first she was injured, did wait some time to see if mom cat would return, she did not. And then once I looked closer, realized kitten had a serious injury, and needed immediate vet care. Anyway, did the weeks of bottle feeding and all that comes with this. Now kitten is doing way too much play biting, and doesn’t know to keep her claws in. She’s playing, but it hurts! From what I read it’s mom & siblings who normally teach kittens to moderate these behaviors, and sibling especially are an outlet for these instincts — when raised together they can bite and wrestle each other rather than me. I do keep giving her a stuffed animal to wrestle with when she tries to bite (it used to be the dog’s but guess it’s hers now!), and have tried saying “no” and “oww” loudly, but she’s not understanding... She does have plenty of other toys... any other ideas? Or maybe she’ll just get the idea eventually and grow out of it?
