Hi, my bf and I have run out of suggestions. Weve had our dog for a year and a half. Got him when he was a puppy. Over the past few months, we’ve been gone much and had to leave him in his crate. For a long time, we had roommates so someone was there to check on him. Now, we live alone and have to leave him in his crate when we are gone. He has now escaped 3 different kennels. We began leaving him outside after he ate 2 crates and body slammed his way out of another. Now, any time we come home he has destroyed some part of the house. Ate vinyl flooring, peeled carpets up, board games, DVDS, or anything he can reach unless we dog proof the house before we go. We are running out of what to do. I don’t want to keep spending 80-100$ on a kennel every few days. I can’t do it. We got an in-home trainer who comes tomorrow, (specializes in behavior modification) but my Bf is convinced it won’t work. Anyone else had any experiences or solutions? We live in an apartment temporarily because we are house hunting. He will have a yard soon, and this will help drastically. But in the mean time, any suggestions? I take him to the park and we play each day, and inside he plays with toys. He is active and brain is stimulated. Just goes crazy when we aren’t home.
