what. the. actual. FK. i am a huge cat lover. all the cats i have had in my life have been bundles of absolute joy and have brought me endless cuddles and happiness.
but every single one of these fuzzy fckers get fleas. BAD.
we catch it early every time. immediately commence vacuuming, medication, the whole shabang. for i am a seasoned veteran.
besides the point - i am currently living at home with my mum, and am moving out into my first apartment and will NOT be bringing my beloved kitty Benjamin since he has become extremely attached to my mums cat. i am afraid (more like absolutely PETRIFIED) that SOMEHOW i will bring fleas with me into my new place. i have extreme anxiety about it. this post isn't about how to rid the house of fleas, but simply if there isn't a cat in my apartment, and i happen to bring a few with me, will they still reproduce? will they live off my blood and stick around?
i have googled this ENDLESSLY. no answers have come up, not straight forward ones anyways. can fleas live off human blood infinitely? will they eventually die off? if they CANT live off my blood, how long until they're completed eradicated?
side question: how do i get over the guilt of leaving my mother in a house of fleas? we aren't INFESTED here, but she doesn't deserve the burden of having to endlessly live with this violent cycle that seems so inevitable. she has had to deal with an infestation before, and it all stopped finally when our cat ran away. (pure devastation). months passed & no fleas until we got our new kitties.
i don't know anymore. i just want answers. real ones. i honestly have flea-tsd. BAD.
