23 days ago I adopted Clementine, a petite domestic shorthair cat who lives alone with me in my flat. She's under a year old and didn't get the best start in life, having been abandoned while pregnant and too weak to care for her 7 kittens. Nevertheless she's sweet and affectionate, and seemed to adjust very well at the start, but recently she's begun showing unusual behaviour. In the second week she was having diarrhoea, probably due to a bug picked up at the foster home. The vet gave her an injection, special food and medicine, and her bowels seem alright now. But she's started being very vocal in the night, especially when I go to bed (even though she has access to the bedroom). She sounds upset and I can't calm her down. She's not hungry or lacking attention, according to the recent vet check she's up to date with vaccinations and her teeth are healthy. She's been spayed too. I've noticed she gets aggressively demanding when food is concerned and bites me in the mornings out of hunger. She weighs under 6lbs but I don't want to feed her more than twice daily. She plays with toys but quickly loses interest. I hate to think she's unhappy...
