It's been a drizzly day so we have been keeping our seven month old pitbull puppy Bella and her big sister Chika (a five year old pommeranian) inside for most of the day. They've been lazing around and napping most of the day. Tonight we decided to still let them out in the yard for a few minutes before bedtime. So they were in the yard for about half an hour with us being able to see them and hear them from the window.
My mother opened the door to find our youngest of the two dogs injured and in bleeding on our porch. Half of her claws were broken and her throat was torn open to the point her neckbone was visible. Both of her legs had visible puncture wounds. One of her jowls was torn completely off and she appeared to be exhausted. Our older pomeranian was completley unscathed and neither of them made a sound or whined at us. These dogs will bark at anything that moves across our front or backyard until they know it's gone or we come outside to see it. They are trained to whine at windows or the backdoor to be let back in, but she was too hurt to even do that. She just laid there and tried to come to us as normally as she could. We took her to the nearest veterinary hospital to have surgery tonight and we don't know of she'll even make it through the operation. She is such a sweet dog and was so sad to see us have to go. She kept shutting the door to the waiting room and tried to block my mom from leaving. She was so sad and we have no idea what could have happened to her.
