What's the best dry food can I get for our cat? And should I include wet food in his diet

Hello, Our cat is a 1 year and 4 months old neutered male, he is usually not excited about the food we get for him, it's Royal Canin adult male food for sterilised cats. It actually helped him lose weight and his body is very lean now. I wonder if I can give him better food that actually will appeal to him or just change it for the sake of it. My bro only feeds him dry food, and I get him some Royal Canin wet food when I am not away for college. My bro refuses to get him any wet food and thinks that dry food with plenty of water is healthy for him. I feel also enraged by my bro's choice, since our cat seems to enjoy wet food a lot. I feel bad about it since I'm leaving soon and he won't be getting any wet food anymore.
