Where should I leave my kitten while I'm at work?

Hey guys, so I have kind of an issue. I live in a studio apartment that just started allowing us to have cats. I have been dying to get a cat, and the same week they started allowing them I was given the most beautiful little black kitten. She's about 8 weeks (we think) and she's super mellow for a kitten. When I went to the leasing office to put down my pet deposit, I was given a list of "rules" about having a cat in the apartment. One of the rules is that the cats can't sit in the windows (WHAT?!) because apparently, someones emotional support dog fell out their window and now they're trying to sue the complex. That's obviously a concern for me because my kitten loves the window (after hearing about the dog falling through the screen, we wont open the window for safety) so my concern is when I leave during the day how can I keep her out of the window? My friend suggested leaving her in my bathroom because it is pretty big, but there is no air flow in there so I worry about her comfort. I have a dog play pen that she loves, but I worry about leaving her in there all day. I'm currently looking to move to a more pet-friendly complex once my lease is up, but I need to figure out something to do in the meantime. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please let me know, I wont give up my kitty and I want to make sure she is comfortable until we can find a better home for both of us. Thank you!
