I have really wanted a dog or a cat for the longest time; I love animals and have been heavily considering buying one.
The problem I’m facing is my lifestyle. I am in the military so I travel a lot for work and I usually work extended hours. This combined with me usually taking 30 days of leave a year to travel makes me hesitant to buy an animal.
Would a dog or cat be happy with the stress of moving every few years or not seeing me for a month out of a year?
I would love to own one but the last thing I want to do is be selfish and submit an animal to the unfair stress of my lifestyle just because I want one.
Any advice from any pet owners that travel a lot or work random and long hours and how it affects their animals would be greatly appreciated!
