We have two cats (male and female, both about one year old) and they keep turning aggressive on each other. It happened once a few days ago, and twice today. This is proper fighting (growling, screaming, hissing, puffy tails) and definitely not play fighting.
We noticed that our female cat always appears to be the aggressive one. It seems she is always the one chasing our male cat, who is afraid of her. And there may be no connection here, but each time, the fighting seems to break out when someone was giving our male affection. Is it possible she is feeling jealousy at not getting enough affection herself, and attacking the other cat?
