So I've never raised a cat before but agreed to help someone raise their cat for 8 weeks or so while they are unable to. I've been thinking about some stuff and have some questions, any answers/advice appreciated.
- I read that a cat should be kept in one room with its food, water and litter box for the first several days when introduced into a new home. I was wondering how large this room would need to be? Right now I have two cats in a bathroom with dimensions of approx. 3 x 5 meters. Would they need more room to get active, or is that comfortable? They are both indoor cats btw.
- I've also read that they should be slowly introduced to the rest of the house for short periods of time with close supervision, how long would it take before I am able to let them roam freely?
- How much time should I be spending with the cats? I don't want to overwhelm them, especially since they don't know me. At the same time, the bathroom where they are currently staying is a bit cramped for me with their beds and litter box, so it's not the most comfortable place to be. I don't want them to get lonely if no one is there keeping them company.
Thanks in advance!
