So my cat passed away on the 5th. Ive been considering getting a new one, maybe in a couple of months, simply because i miss having a cat. Im a cat person, im not me without my cat. However my boyfriend claims that he never wants another one, or if we do get one, it has to be after our dog passes away (hes 5 so that will probably be years from now.) He says the reason is because cats are disgusting and he hates them, but i know hes exaggerating because he loved my cat, he even cried when she passed away. Depsite this being his reason, he says he prefers to get a dog, and only a very large dog. The dog we have now gets into the trash every day (we have to lock it and he still tries) pees on our expensive couch and even tore up our christmas presents. Yet, he wants another one of those and not a cat. How do i make him understand that a cat would be far less of a hassle than a dog and that i need one? I feel incomplete without a cat by my side.
