I’ve been with him for almost a year and a half now. When I met my boyfriend he had a young puppy and she was the cutest little puppy. She was somewhat obedient(I was working on training her, teaching her commands and good dog manners) she always listened to me. As time passed what I thought was our good dog has now completely changed her ways. Now we are expecting a baby in February. Since I’ve gotten pregnant, our dog has been acting up to the point to where he wants to give her away to a new home. Especially to me, which breaks my heart since I was the one who had taken so much time to teach her good manners and obedience.. She refuses to listen to me now! She constantly jumps up on me even after repeatedly pushing her down and telling her no which really bothers me because I am pregnant and she is a 109 pound pit bull, she refuses to do any commands I’ve taught her and just walks away anytime I tell her to sit, stay, Shake, etc. She eats the food off the counter tops if I leave the room for a second, she urinates every day inside the house and poops in her cage almost every night even though we take her out several times before her bed time. She also has chewed up SEVERAL of my dirty clothes(mostly panties which is very odd)out of the laundry hamper in our room and also my favorite house slippers. I used to be so fond of her but now she’s very disobedient and my boyfriend doesn’t care much about her bad behavior because he thinks this behavior is “cute”(I.e jumping on me and him especially when we have food in our hands and also begging when she is told no) I have tried several forms of discipline and none have worked. He doesn’t do anything except scold her when she does something wrong. I don’t want our daughter to get here and our dog be too wild towards her.. I’m not sure what to do because I feel like its a very one sided situation because I’m the only one really trying to discipline her. But we are both tired and stressed because of this change in behavior and I am stuck because finding her a new home would kill us but we just don’t know what to do anymore ☹️ I’ve tried to talk to him about how he needs to follow through with discipline but it seems to go through one ear and out the other. Ugh! 😩
