I have moved into a new place and since then my cat has been extremely needy. I play with him as much as I can because I realize the move must be as tough on him as has been on me, as far as getting used to it. He used to have another cat to play with but I recently have seperated with my wife and she took the other cat.
I moved into an apartment that only allows two pets and I am tempted to get him a friend. I really want to get dog though, rather than another cat. My question is, can a dog help a cat with it's loneliness? Also, is there a technique in helping cats become more independent in the mean time?
