Hi. I’m dog sitting and the owners left this morning. I’ve done 2 walks with the owner before today so the dog is semi-familiar with me. But now he won’t come out of his hiding spot in the closet. He came out when I put his food bowl out and then went straight back to the spot. I put treats on the floor near me and he’ll quickly eat it and go back. I’m just sitting here quickly near him to see if he starts to trust me. Anything else I can do?
Also, side note: The dog bit me the first time I tried to hand feed it a treat like I did before with the owner. I took a picture of my hand just in case. The owner is on a plane now so I can’t contact her. I should let her know right?
