He’s always been high strung. Has typical anxious behavior. He’s 6 and has had P.U. Surgery last year and has been medically fine since. Took him to the vet not even two weeks ago and he got cleared. But occasionally (past week) he likes to pee along the walls of my house (he’s been neutered) and poop on my carpet. He’ll do this every so often. I don’t yell at him because it’ll only make him more anxious.
I have food puzzles, I interact with him and his brother daily with this fishing rod toy that they chase. I have four large litter boxes set in different areas of the house so the two don’t get in the way of each other. Barely any cat fights between them. He’s on a wet food diet where I added extra water to his broth. I add small amounts of dry treats to his food puzzles. He LIVES for food and will be on my case if he isn’t fed exactly at 9:30am. If I feed him a minute late he’ll start meowing loudly and walking around digging his nails in the carpet.
I clean the areas with Nature’s Miracle. I shampoo the carpet as well. I even use citrus scents so he can stay clear of that area.
My husband and I pet him as much as possible. At least 30 min in the morning and then throughout the day. I’m just frustrated and don’t know what to do to calm him down.
