I recently rescued a neighbors dog. He was moving and couldn't keep him any longer. Cosmo (the dog a golden retriever) is 12 years old and was with his owner her whole life. I really don't like to have to put him on a leash every time she goes out but i don't want him to go back to where he used to live mostly cause she would have to cross a busy street and I fear for her safety. Also she seems to fear going up and down the stairs we were able to coax her up using treats but you could tell she was uncomfortable with it and she still won't go down them I have to carry her. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thank you
