Hi! My boyfriend and I are adopting a yellow lab puppy next week when she turns 7 weeks old. I’ve been reading up on articles but ultimately am pretty new to this!
We are driving 3 hours away to adopt this puppy from a mutual friend whose dogs had puppies. Near this location, another friend of ours lives and has a boat and a beach nearby. They wanted us to go immediately to their house to stay with them after we get her and go to the beach, and out on the boat. I’m worried that the puppy will not be on a good schedule and won’t bond with my boyfriend and I if we immediately introduce her to other people and are out and about all day rather than taking her home and getting her settled. Is this true or are we okay to go to our friend’s house?
Any other tips MUCH appreciated.
