My shih tzu is 2 years old and has always had a problem with eating her poop. We managed to stop it for a good while once we got her into a proper routine and regular walks. However every so often we'll find out she's done it again but it's always random. Recently she's been waiting for us to go to bed before doing it, I've thought maybe she's doing it to "hide the evidence" but she leaves some of it????
The past two nights I've heard her scratching at the living room door too, she's always been really good when it comes to sleeping downstairs so this is additional strange behaviour. But what really did it was tonight I went downstairs and she had done a poop but left it!!! I cleaned it up and left, then came back downstairs a second time about an hour or 2 later and she had done ANOTHER poop and ate most of it. I'm at a loss of what to do because we can't watch her 24/7 :(
