I will be moving to a new apartment soon that allows me to have an additional cat. My current cat is 5 years old and a sweetie. I've had her since she was 2 months old. Is it generally advised to let your current pet settle in for a month or two at a new residence before seeking out an additional pet? I would be looking to get a second cat as a friend for her and also hopefully as a cuddle cat for me (current cat is rather independent).
