My year old cat has been very sick after ingesting a flea med about a week and a half ago. she saw the vet three times and got blood work and x rays done. nothing seems to be wrong however at a second vet i decided to visit today we found out she has a fever. she spent a few hours on and IV but i had to leave her over night because her fever hadn’t gone down much. i was wondering if possibly the toxicity of the flea med could have caused an internal infection that is somehow being missed in the blood work?? is this possible? shes getting tested for feline leukemia and other viruss tonight. im hoping its just an infection and that we caught it on time. what could this be??
my overall question would be is it even possible that an infection could have been missed in the blood work?
