So before I start off, my cat has already been to the vet. The vet gave her a flea treatment and one of the side effects is diarrhea...and of course she got it immediately.
I have picked so much poop in the past two days: bedroom carpet, rug, hardwood floor, bathroom rug, she just won't go in her litter box anymore. (Probably because the poop comes out so fast.) I even brought a 2nd litter box for my small apartment but she still won't use it right now.
I have bathed her twice in the past two days because the poop gets on her fur. She is perfectly normal besides this and is still eating, playing, drinking water, etc. If this goes on for a few more days I will take her back to the vet again.
My boyfriend thinks I am being mean by putting her in the bathroom (she has only been in here for about two hours now) but I can't have poop everywhere. I am afraid to go to sleep because she might track poop across the apartment. My boyfriend gags at the sight of it so I have to clean it up. I don't mind cleaning it but I told him I can't keep doing this multiple times a day. I am afraid our carpet will get ruined. At the same time, my cat needs to understand that she should use the litterbox. Keeping her in the bathroom until she has solids will be the easiest to clean.
She has her food, water, toy and blanket in here and we come in and check on her every 30 mins or so. We both use the bathroom a lot at night too, so she will get multiple visits.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
