I specify sleep, not bed, because he mostly couldn't care less if I'm in my bed and awake, even if I'm totally ignoring him. But recently when I'm trying to fall asleep he starts biting me hard. The other night he got angry when I was getting ready for bed and stood in my bedroom door attacking my legs if I tried to get by him, but mostly he's waited till I go to lie down and try to sleep before attacking. He glares at me while he does it and makes angry meows; he seems to be genuinely mad. He doesn't bite like this most of the time, he will play bite but not super hard. When he attacks at bedtime he sometimes draws blood kind of slashing with his teeth. Occasionally he gets ankle-bitey in the morning, which I assume means he wants more exercise, but the bedtime bites are new. It doesn't seem to make a difference if I was home paying attention to him all day, he still does this. He's about 9 months old, neutered, and always has kitty-kibble in his bowl so he isn't hungry. If I lie in bed on my phone or whatever he does his own thing in the room/out of the room till I lie down to sleep and then it's suddenly bite o'clock. I've been kicking him out of the room when he does this but it doesn't seem to have sunk in yet. Water spraying doesn't really phase him either, just temporarily annoys him. He's his normal cute friendly self during the day and evening, till I go to try and sleep. Does anyone have any advice? Getting sick of being chewed on and kept awake at night.
