Hi, my mom has an 8 year old french bulldog who absolutely HATES when the washing machine is running at her house. He starts panting and ferociously digging at the carpet. It's not only very stressful for him, but it damages the carpet. He only acts like this with the washing machine, has no other anxiety issues. He also didn't do this with her old one. I think it has something to do with a sound that humans can't hear (bc it sounds normal to me).
What can I do to help him? Getting a new machine isn't really an option for my mom. And like I said, this is the only thing that sets him off, so I'm not sure if some prescribed meds for anxiety would be recommended.
