So my cat used to sleep with me every night and she used to love getting cuddling with me but she got pregnant (accidentally, it totally was not planned. But I understand it's my fault for no getting her fixed before all the shut downs started) and she wanted nothing to do with me. It actually seemed like my presence annoyed her and she would always leave if I came into the room or started petting her.
But this morning she woke me up meowing and wanted me to follow her. She took me over to where she was nesting and laid down. Then if I would leave she would come follow me. Once I got the hint and sat down she had her first baby within 15 minutes. I got to be there for all of it and it seemed like she actually wanted me there. If I got up to leave she yelled for me until I got back.
Now that she's done birthing babies, she wants all the cuddles and she still wants me close. I am confused by the complete 180 but I am so happy. My heart is just so full that my beautiful cat trusted me and loved me enough to trust me enough to be there during all five of her kittens being born.
