Hi,
My parents (mom basically) have something against animals inside (please dont judge them). I really want a cat but cant have one indoor so was thinking of having one outdoor but didnt want to be inhumane, let me explain quick.
I would obviously fees the cat and give it water. We personally own about an acre of land but we have several neighbors properties which the cat could freely roam on and come back home for food and cuddles. However, we live on a very busy road. Some of the neighbors have outdoor cats, but is it bad to have a cat outside on a busy road? What are some of the challenges that pose with outside cats? Can they learn where home is?
Finally, during the winter (i live in Upstate NY), i dont have the heart to leave it outside (that would be cruel). But i think as long as its a cat and not a dog, over the course of the summer i could slowly introduce the cat indoors and my parent might be cool with it (fingers crossed)
