I have recently had issues with my cat scratching my neck and arms when i pick him up. I have a mild cat allergy that pretty much means that i can't have him in my room, especially with malting on my bed. However, recently he has been very persistent to get in, clawing at the door in the early hours of the morning or waiting for an opportunity to push past my legs into the room.
My allergy being mild, i still pet him as much as i can and there are other cats and people in the house for company so he shouldn't be lonely, yet he still tries to get in constantly. When he comes in i generally pick him up to take him out and give him some love and but recently i have felt that it has been getting quite a bit worse. Before, the cat wasn't overly bothered about being away from me but now i am being woken up in the night and he claws me a lot when i try to move him out of the room, even though i would usually give him attention afterwards and make sure he isn't upset.
I'm really just unsure what to do. I don't really have an option with my allergies because it would mean being stuffy and itchy all night while getting even less sleep. He has plenty of other company with other people and 2 other cats but he is just being extremely clingy. I really just want to make sure he's not distressed but i have no idea what i can do
